Too bad its was an entertaining diversion.

That trick knee gave out, again? Best thing for it is three hits of Oxycontin, washed down with three, double shots of Peach Stoli!

Good for you, expat. It takes a big man to disclose to cynics such a personal, yet most noble, endeavor. I just hope this isn't one of those cursed, New Years' resolutions.

good wishes been there it sucks but in the end its worth it.

Oh, THAT sort of rehab. Great. Now when he gets out, we'll have to do an intervention in order to deprogram him. There's nothing worse than a reformed debunker.

You are not entirely without resources in there. I met this guy who told me that when he was in prison, he would save all the fruit from his meals, and toss it in a trash bucket in his cell, where eventually it would ferment.

Getting to the root of the problem is essential in mitigating the symptoms. It's like when, Chief Inspector Dreyfus, finally suffers a mental breakdown due to the continual intolerable antics of Inspector Clouseau. What does your support group have to say about Richard C Hoagland?

Good luck and looking forward to your return. Your voice of sanity and reason is missed.

His voice of sanity and reason has always been missing, but Richard C Hoagland might well be to blame.

Saint Patrick's Day, just wasn't the same this year. I don't know if that's because of the virus hoax or the debunker's hiatus.

The virus hoax has been called a cover up for ill effects of 5G, but could it be that 5G is a cover up for the effects of Earth losing it's magnetic field? Where's expat when we really need him? Maybe, Art Bell, will turn out to be living in Manillla?

Snap out of it Paterick! Who scared you off? I don't buy this rehab cover any further. Even you don't drink all, that much.

I see these every night over Summerland, California, and the Chanel Islands oil derricks. One even dropped down right in my face with a three foot diameter red head light. They are dead silent. Why doesn't the Navy shoot them down?

Sadly, Hoagland is not widely known for his courteous behaviour toward guests. He seems to vacillate somewhere between condescension and outright rudeness, depending on where his mood takes him.

To be frank, I am surprised that people are still willing to guest on his programme at all. The cardinal rule of The Awkward Side of Midnight is: thou shalt not appear smarter than Hoagland.

It makes for tedious listening.

[/quote]

To give Hoagland his due, you would have to go a long way to meet anyone else who has gotten so much mileage out of so few talking points.

He's been banging on about "domes on the moon" for decades. Unfortunately, he has yet to twig that recycling the same dreck time and again quickly results in bored, frustrated listeners.

The real tragedy for Hoagland is that he *can* be an excellent speaker; the potential was certainly there at one point. He simply never learned how to restrain his own ego and and resist the temptation to upstage everyone else in the room when the attention is supposed to be directed at his guests.

Any roads, I hope expat is faring well and enjoying life to the fullest. [wave]

It's a phony excuse. He was ordered to stand down during the, Covid Live Exercise. He will return after Juneteenth, as if the continuing masks for vaccination mandates aren't slavery, in violation of the, Equal Protections clause of the 14th Amendment, which purohits creation of second class citizenship.

Two Percent said...

Hi THE, Thea, etc. I recognise your unique mis-punctuation!

Stand down!? Nah, not buying it. He's always been the exemplary apologist.

I accept what he, or someone posting as him, said:

"I'm in rehab, "

There are numerous forms of rehab. The usual connotation relates to illicit drug use / addiction, but could also mean alcoholism, prescription drug abuse, or, I guess, any number of other (self- or other-) injurious addictions, such as pornography, sex, masturbation, the internet (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, instagram, tinder...) I'd go so far as to say I've suffered a bit from internet addiction myself.

However, usually, dare I say it, addictions are the result of unreconciled mental or (more commonly) emotional issues, which are the drivers to taking up drugs, alcohol etc, in order to attempt to drown, suppress or in some way reduce, control or distract oneself from the unpleasant feelings those issues engender.

I know expat declares himself something of an oenologist, so alcohol would be a first guess, but why!? What would drive him to overindulge?

The Shattering of Prized Illusions would probably do it.

The Staunch Government Deniers have now come out and started suggesting that UFOs might be real after all. That has to be a precursor to a full(er) admission.

After years of being a vehement co-denier, and no doubt being privy to a lot of (false) insider source "info", that could turn one's world upside down. That half-empty glass is now half-full; now pouring down your throat!

Finally, the supposed expat comment:

"hope to get back to it. Thx."

just doesn't sound like him. If it was him, he has undergone a complete change of attitude and/or disposition.

Having been there myself, I know just how utterly choking, suffocating and dissociating that feeling is.

expat, you have my full sympathies. All I can say is that you can get through it. Of course, you'll come out completely changed, but it's truly an ill wind that blows no good. May the Force be with you, my friend.

"...back to normal life..."

Nothing against expat, but let's hope not. I'm speaking generally, not specifically.

Normal Life means the destruction of Planet Earth, extermination of a multitude of different species, likely including, eventually, our own. Though that would no doubt be a good thing, galactically-speaking.

Do you know that about half of Australia's formerly magnificent Great Barrier Reef coral is now dead? Half, an ugly, grey, horribly depressing, virtually lifeless wasteland. Check www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-54533971 or Attenborough: Breaking Boundaries. It took thousands of years (500,000 from start, 8,000 since last Ice Age) to form, so don't try to tell me there ain't no Global Warming!

There won't be any return to "normal life". As I hear it, US Farmers are now being paid 150% to destroy their crops. Inflation is inevitably rising like the flood waters around the globe. Food shortages will begin soon. Start preparing!

All this makes the facade of SARS-COV-2xx Vaccination all the more transparent. WTF (Why) are we pretending to protect all human life with vaccines when what we need is fewer people, asap!? That's the best reason I can see to avoid having one. Be selfless, roll the dice and let Covid have its way with you. (Expat, you're exempted!) That's the best evolutionary filter operating at present. If you survive, you deserve to live, so make the most of it, either way.

Red Pill or Blue Pill?

Ocean warming, not global warming. There are more than two million undersea volcanoes currently erupting. Most population centers are along coast lines, where the warmer oceans create warmer micro climates. Inland, temperatures are setting record cold.

THE said:

"Ocean warming, not global warming."

Oh. Really? And I always thought that the oceans covered the greater part of the globe. And that the oceans are a mere skin over the surface of the far, far greater mass of rock that makes up the planet. Surely, if the oceans are warming, it's only because the 'rocky bits' (the globe which supports the watery skin) are getting warmer? Or, are you trying to say the oceans hold more heat than all the rock?

So when did these two million undersea volcanoes start erupting? Last decade? Or 200 million decades ago?

And the record temperature in Canada (121 F (49.6 C) recently is not a record high (for Canada)??

The current global record high temp stands at 54 C, at the following places and times:
- Furnace Creek on June 13, 2013,
- Mitribah in Kuwait on July 21, 2016, and
- Turbat in Pakistan on May 28, 2017

All in the past 10 years, all at somewhat inland locations.

Of course, it all depends on altitude, which for some weird reason tends to be lower near the coast. Probably, we should look at temperature for altitude records for a better idea.

Ice ages invariably begin with increased volcanism. Ice ages don't occur every thirteen thousand years, but increased volcanism does. Ice ages when the occur, happen during the signs of Leo and Aquarius. The Mayan Calendar, ended, 12,21,2012, but how did the Mayans know?

This coincides with the cycle of precession, an elliptical path of the planet through the signs of the Zodiac, around the Sun. Leo and Aquarius are at the pointy end of the football shaped trajectory, where planet Earth is at it's farthest most point from the Sun.

Most volcanoes are under sea. The oceans have become so full of gas from volcanic emissions that the oceans have become overloaded with carbon, which has no where to go but up into the atmosphere. Dr James DeLuze, has the patent for nuclear fusion and another patent for removing greenhouse gas from the atmosphere and sending into Outer Space. If international treaties are amended to permit contamination of Space, Dr DeLuze might well succeed in plunging Earth into an ice age. Otherwise, Milankovitch Cycles of the Sun, do not indicate a pending Ice Age. Nevertheless, considering the dramatic shift in seasons due to the so-called, 'Earth's Wobble,' under any circumstances our planet must expect colder temperatures for the next two thousand years.

The reason for increased volcanism might be that as the planet approaches the apex of the Cycle of Precession, it creates more centrifugal force on the Earth's crust, creating a piezo electric effect, which heats up magma. This has led to a shift in the Earth's crust, as evidenced by the Piri Reis Map, which suggests that Antarctica was once at a more Northerly lattitude.

Ocean warming likely explains the reason for the drop in sea levels, due to evaporation.

Hi THE,

Interesting! Where did you get all this?

I suspect your

" ... dramatic shift in seasons due to the so-called, 'Earth's Wobble,' "

might be somewhat overblown. The poles apparently wander by only a few metres, not enough to plunge us into an Ice Age.

This is a very good article:

https://www.nasa.gov/feature/nasa-study-solves-two-mysteries-about-wobbling-earth

As for "more centrifugal force on the Earth's crust", I don't buy this at all. If the Earth's speed of rotation increased (-> shorter days, which is not happening - in fact, it's the opposite, due to tidal drag), yes, but you must remember that "The Earth is a sphere, suspended on nothing". The fact that the curvature of its orbit is greatest at the vertices is, I believe, irrelevant, as it simply moves according to momentum and gravitational pull, resulting in no significant external forces apart from the much closer moon's differential gravitational pull, which is also not subject to major change - unless we suddenly encounter a wayward "Planet-X"...

Also, the piezo electric effect creates electrical potentials but does not generate very much heat. It is, however, far more likely to generate plasma balls and "Earth Lights" which often get mistaken for UFOs...

I suggest that the most likely cause of increased volcanism is, YEP, Global Warming! The logic is simple. The interior of the planet is molten, heated by nuclear fission and other sources. If we increase the surface temperature by increasing the insulating properties of the atmosphere leading to a reduced heat flow into space, the interior temperatures will increase, leading to expansion, greater gas generation and increased magma pressure against the underside of the crust.

Voila, increased volcanism!

(It's an interesting thought experiment. How much will the inner core temperature rise for each degree of surface temperature rise? As I recall, thermal expansion factors (length, area, volume) are all linear, but if the core temperature increases more than the surface temperature, then core expansion will be greater than the skin (crustal) expansion, so there is an imbalance. Not identical, but similar? Put a cold glass into hot water - why did it crack? This is why pottery kilns are allowed to cool very slowly.)

2% said...

Hmm...

"thermal expansion factors (length, area, volume) are all linear

Not quite. I can still picture the old textbook, and the old drawings, and I recall being surprised at the time, but was either convinced or forgot that they were approximations.

Anyway, they are close but not exact = approximations. Volume is almost 2% more. What a coincidence!

That's probably not good enough then. Sorry.

THE said...

I assembled my theory entirely from assorted, Art Bell interviews.

THE said...

Dear 2%,

How please would you explain the regular increase in volcanism, every 13,000 years? Expat would say, butt he's on hiatass.

Two Percent said...

Hi THE,

[Hiatus?]

I'll do my best.

Regular Volcanism:

This is the subject of ongoing debate. The period is particularly debatable!

There are various factors involved, from the Earth's axial tilt (Milankovitch -> global heating and cooling), to the build up of deep ice packs depressing the crust, supposedly increasing sub-crustal pressures (debatable) and volcanism (-> dark ash deposits on the ice causing increased solar absorption thereby ending Ice Ages, versus global temperature rise ["Global Warming!"] causing increased evaporation and inland snow packs leading to Ice Age onset...), thereby creating a negative feedback loop and ensuring that the Earth doesn't get 'stuck' in one extreme state or the other. Of course, it's not really that simple... (Maybe, add 'beat frequencies' as well?)

Here's an older article:

https://arstechnica.com/science/2012/12/earths-orbital-cycles-may-trigger-peaks-of-volcanic-eruptions/

And a more recent one:

https://climate.nasa.gov/news/2948/milankovitch-orbital-cycles-and-their-role-in-earths-climate/

Actually, there's another factor which I haven't previously dared mention (expat will likely object), but which messes with it all, and that's the recent arrival of the moon. (Giant Impact / Theia Theory be damned, sorry expat, THE!)

Cheers!
