Mike Bara: HD 95086 b "Totally supports the fission model of planetary formation"

I sent this to Mike today:

I see where you are claiming that the direct imaging of a large planet 56 AU from HD 95086 [note 1] "Totally supports the fission model of planetary formation."

Your statement is not true. The mere existence of a single massive planet accompanying a star tells us nothing about its formation. It could as well be explained by accretion, fission, or capture. Before astronomers could even begin to make deductions about the formation of such a planet, they would need at least some information about its orbit, and preferably about many other planets in the same system.

As you know, a key part --almost the only coherent part-- of the evidence Van Flandern [note 2] presented in support of planetary fission was that planets in our own solar system seem to occur in pairs. I remind you of what Van Flandern (1997) wrote:

"The spin-up of the proto-Sun will make it first oblate, then prolate as it approaches an overspin state where centrifugal forces exceed gravitational forces. This shape is called a “Maclaurin spheroid." When the star-disk boundary reaches the overspin condition, the two prolate bulges on opposite sides of the proto-Sun break away and form twin proto-planets in low orbits just above the proto-star surface in the inner disk."

Accordingly, you are not permitted to write that HD 95086 b supports the theory in the absence of a twin companion.

As you probably also know, the fission model is in difficulty when it comes to explaining planetary differentiation, and in further difficulty now that a proto-planetary disc has been observed in the Orion nebula [note 3].

I might add that I'm surprised you have not considered yourself permanently disqualified from writing about this topic, since the unforgivable errors on p.34 of The Choice have been publicly exposed and mocked.

Regards,
(expat)

==============================

I copied the text to Mike's manager, Adrienne Loska, which generated this auto-reply:
Unfortunately, Mike has informed me that you are too stupid to converse with, and in fact that the entire Universe is dumber for having you in it. Please take a moment to thin the heard and improve the quality of the gene pool by removing yourself from it.

Evidently, Adrienne is as weak on spelling as she is on cartography.

For the benefit of any readers who don't know what I was referring to when I wrote of the errors on p.34 -- Mike Bara wrote this by way of evidence for fission:

"Many of the planet's orbits, which ... should be perfectly circular by now, are highly elliptical. In fact, Mars's orbit is so eccentric that its distance from Earth goes from 34 million miles at its closest to 249 million miles at its greatest."

I was not aware that Mars orbited Earth. Thanks Mike, for taking us to school on that.

Well, now you now why I wrote "unforgivable."

Hopefully mikes dalliances with his gogo girls have only fattened the heard, for the betterment of all humanitee.

Although I admire greatly your careful and scientific fact based construction of the points made; isn't it reaching the point that no matter how much you use the said facts (and corroborating evidence) in addressing directly Bara, you know he's simply going to stick his fingers in his ears, and basically sink to the playground level (with apologies to all immature children) and just insult you? I appreciate that an insult is taken, and the Bara's of this world don't matter in the great scheme of things, but if the default answer to your valid points is a 'he's an idiot'(or similar), he's clearly not someone who is capable of rational 'scientific' debate. He's the one who is wasting oxygen, and in my humble opinion, not worth bothering with..

Thanks for the input, SB. You aren't the first to have questioned why I apparently like beating my head against a brick wall, not by any means.

The fact is, I'm a writer who isn't getting much professional employment these days. We writers are compelled to write, you know, and it's probably a good idea that we write about topics we understand and on which we have something useful to impart. Sure, all I generally get back is playground insults, but once in a while Hoagland & Bara do address the issues. I JUST LOVED IT when Mike posted a picture of Isis Ave and 33rd St not intersecting, accompanying his text saying "See! They intersect!" The exchange between Hoagland and myself on Armstrong as parrot was almost equally entertaining.

And my other reward is the comments. I really enjoy them. Writer's pride -- there you have it.

You have to be amused at the irony of being called stupid by a man who claims his dead dog writes poetry.

Expat, this is what you get for trying to communicate with a Caucasian porch monkey. The irony of Adrienne Loska talking about removing yourself from the gene pool.Adrienne Loska, occupation: managing third class new age bullshit incubators & trading food stamps for crack.

Loska and Bara seem like they have so much in common. They both are equally adept at responding to critics.

Mike Bara is really lucky to have a consummate professional like Adrienne Loska to act as a buffer between his gruff nature and the various people who correspond with him.

Why, without Loska keeping it classy, people who ask Bara hard questions might be met with juvenile responses.

I hadn't encountered a reference from Bara calling someone a "demented nutbag" before. Maybe he's abandoning the word douche, after someone pointed out that a douche is actually pretty useful? Who knows. Doesn't the photo he's showing actually prove they don't intersect? I think I see one of his streets curving away before they intersect... Maybe he should take Isis to 33rd and see hiw that works out for him.

I felt like entertaining & educating myself today.
In other news,"Dave Bara's been really sick with bronchitis" (Please send your prayers and positive energies).Mike in a desperate outburst of lucidity (believes in pet psychic medium) but not in natural cure & medicine.
Sara Bara aka Miss Piggy Sara-Casm wants to "massage you down with some warm oils and then cover you in kisses from head to toe until you feel all better" ("all" = the Bara twins).
Plus, the cherry on the cake of the day : "The superior man blames himself. The inferior man blames others.take note Obama lovers...".

Addendum,I swear I am not making up this shit.

"The superior man blames himself. The inferior man blames others.take note Obama lovers..."

That's pretty funny, considering how much time people of Bara's ilk spend blaming Democrats, and Obama, for all their real or imagined problems.

But never mind that. We're here to talk about hyperdimensional physics, not politics!

I can just hear Hoagie now: "Ah yes, but you must understand discussing hyperdimensional physics is a profoundly political act!"

Hoagies didn't actually say that, but he would.

Did L. Ron Hoagland rip off his ideas from Scientology? Apparantly Will Smith's latest masterpiece is a dud and a Dianetics shill. The following lines sound right out of Hoagnetics:

Smith: "I'm a student of patterns. At heart, I'm a physicist. I look at everything in my life as trying to find the single equation, the theory of everything."

Jaden: "I think that there is that special equation for everything, but I don't think our mathematics have evolved enough for us to even-I think there's, like, a whole new mathematics that we'd have to learn to get that equation.

Smith: "I agree with that."

Jaden: "It's beyond mathematical. It's, like, multidimensional mathematical, if you can sort of understand what I'm saying."

Hoagie stole from Hubbard (among others) and Hubbard stole from Aleister Crowley (among others). It's pretty much plagiarists all the way down.

And, just like the World Turtle, none of it makes much sense if you think about it even a little.

Trekker said...

LOL! Take a look at Mikey's page. He's in hospital with a kidney stone, giving a fat finger to his fans. What a classy person he is!!!

FlightSuit said...

Oh dear, a kidney stone? That sounds painful! Perhaps Hoagie's girlfriend has some homeopathic remedies she could share with him?

expat said...

I don't think that would fly, FS. Just the other day he was having a rant about how useless "natural" medicine is.

expat said...

Here's the quote, from last Saturday:

"I'm sorry, but no "natural cure" I've ever used has ever worked for any illness I've ever had, or if they do help even a little, drugs work better."

FlightSuit said...

Well isn't that interesting? He peddles woo all day long, but he doesn't buy it!

Chris Lopes said...

Hey, speaking new age nonsense may help you impress the cougars at happy hour, but Mikey isn't about to risk his own fanny on that crap. He may be stupid, but he's not crazy.

For those who think humans need to evolve a new type of mathematics to understand the universe, you should watch this video. There's some really advanced geometry/topology in there. Even if you don't understand it all, it's pretty mind-blowing.
