It reflects the entire theme and philosophy of your site with brilliant simplicity and stunning imagery. In my humble opinion it is really a masterpiece and creates an exciting montage of promise and expectation that is grandly fulfilled with the content of your website content.Fulsome praise, for a piece of computer art that's not well adapted to the width allocated to it (840 pixels), and that's only loosely associated with the web site that's been inaccessible to its progenitor for over two years now.
I notice that Hoagland himself is now describing the wretched thing as:
Richard Hoagland's breakthrough space website, featuring stories, links, and breaking news stories. These people seem to be largely illiterate in addition to being delusional.

I'm not sure what the fuss is about. It's just a cropped version of the header on the EM website. I wonder though, if the header itself isn't an infringement of Paramount's copyright of Star Trek, as the ship in it is clearly an Enterprise inspired craft. It wouldn't be the first time Hoagland stepped on other people's intellectual property.
I almost added that the page he references about the over-contrasted pre-dawn image of Owen Mesa makes liberal use of Don Davis's art, without permission.
The new image seems to be catering mostly to the faithful-ironically enough, The Face doesn't look much like a face in that view, and you'd have to be familiar with Hoagland's shiny bits commentary on the image to really know what you're looking at.
Hoagland's whole attitude on copyright is ironic in the extreme. He steals liberally from just about everyone, then complains about Youtube hosting decade old videos that NO ONE in their right mind would actually pay to see in any case. BTW, is Don the one who had to turn to Hoagie's ISP to get some images removed (as Hoagland would not even discuss the matter)?
No, that was Walter Myers.
Thanks Expat. Hoagland has ripped off so many people, it's tough to keep track. If it's not art from guys like Don Davis and Walter Myers, it's ideas from Gene Roddenberry, Arthur C. Clarke, and Robert Heinlein. In the case of Dr. Judy Wood, it was an entire paid presentation. Originality isn't his thing.
Has Hoagland mentioned "Iron Sky" yet?
I remember Hoagie mentioning Iron Sky a few months back, perhaps around or just after the Elenin thing, when the trailer and promo material first started to appear... strangely enough, even HE said it seemed a bit of a joke and didn't really say much more than that - it sticks in my memory because normally you'd expect him to be all over it as "insider evidence" of what is really going on... although perhaps he is just waiting for the right time to jump on that band wagon... assuming doctor robin gives her seal of approval to the movie first of course!!... and enough $10 donations come in so he can see it a few times and tells us all about the "hidden meaning" of the movie on C2C.
I think that if the John Carter thing fizzles out (and it looks like it is), he may have no choice but to jump on Iron Sky. He's promised a "paper" on JC in a couple of weeks, but I'm thinking there isn't enough interest in the subject for him to really bother. It's just as likely to go down the memory hole as not. Too bad too, as the paper has great comic potential.
Chris,
Agreed! The West Wing analysis he did a few years back had me on the floor. Love to see the notes from that night.
