THIS BLOG HAS BEEN CLOSED DOWN PURSUANT TO RESTRAINING ORDER #6609877/Bara

That's the headline Mike Bara would love to see appear here one day. On his latest internet radio show, X-Squared with Brooks Agnew, (Parts 2&3 only) he said that he's hired an investigator to track me down and he will soon file a restraining order against me.

Where's he going to find a judge to sign an order that's in flagrant conflict with the First Amendment to the Constitution, I wonder?

To a caller who asked why he accuses his critics of homosexuality, Bara replied "in your case it's probably true", then later said he wished the critics would stick to the facts and not get so personal.

Truly this person is an enigma.

My guess is that you (and Dr. Robbins) have severely limited Mike's earning potential by pointing out how divorced from reality his work is. The criticisms have apparently stuck a bit with some of the folks who'd most likely be buying his work. Without Hoagland's 4 decades of "credibility" to bank on, that can be a financially dangerous thing to happen.

No I don't think that Mike has actually hired an investigator. I doubt he could afford to waste money on something any lawyer will tell him is a nonstarter (The First Amendment: Not just a good idea, it's the law!). I do think though, that you've managed to get a rent free apartment in his neocortex. I can't imagine that it's a big apartment (space is limited), but the price is right.

He can fill a restraining order to prevent you from contacting, mailing or getting close to him, but he cannot do squat against your blog. Bara is a public figure ,there is no law that protects someone from criticism.I strongly recommend you to instal "Site Meter" on your blog, it is a Tracker that identifies & records visitors IP`s,locations & time of access

PS, Don't sweat Expat, you have nothing to fear from Princess Bara,he is harmless as a Gay hamster.

Expat, glad to find your blog---best wishes and thanks for fighting the good fight!

Expat, can you explain why you seem so desperate to keep your identity a secret from Bara and Hoagland, yet give out enough clues both here and on the recent Paracast to easily identify you?

A quick google search is all it takes, given the info you've provided.

expat said...

Trekker: No, I can't explain it without giving information that would be useful to the people who wish to silence me.

Sounds to me like Bara just keeps asking for it. Personally, I think you ought to be investigating NASA, Hoagland, and Sagan, more, but I can see how Bara's taunts keep you plugging away. Maybe you should send him a bill for your promoting him so heavily here, or just start spelling his name wrong

If Bara were actually entitled to a restraining order, he would have done it by now, instead of giving lip service. Same with Hoagland.

@Expat, I am getting nasty private messages from minions of the best selling author of "ancient junkyard on the Moon".Can you please set the record straight?.I am a bitch but I am not your bitch ;)

Richard C Hoagland is also obsessed with having to know the State issued personae of every account holder who's page likes his page, but I have yet to see Hoagland's ID. John Cooper keeps contacting every ghost profile, with questions that could connect a common account holder. Early on, Hoagland in email asked me who I really was. He said how hard it was for a him being a celebrity to make friends. I politely evaded, and he totally hit the ceiling.

@Misti
You are asking for it,change your profile picture;)

Tara: "I am a bitch but I am not your bitch ;)"

I'm happy so to stipulate.

Bar-a-noi-a: (noun) a neurological disorder characterized by delusions of persecution, unwarranted childish hostility towards others, subnormal sexual attitudes, a huge sense of self-importance and rampant pareidolia leading to publication of a small number of factually baseless storybooks.

You can see the baranoia coming out in that podcast. He clings to the ziggurat like a barnacle; a sea of science cannot set him free. NASA are still airbrushing images despite being told why that's not possible, and despite NASA revealing to the world an artifact on the surface of Mars picked up by Curiosity before they knew whether it was something alien in origin. Probably a slip-up by the airbrushing department.

His pathetic baranoia is only matched by the useless hosts he cuddles up knowing he won't be bothered by any of those awkward things - or facts as they are also known - from intelligent people. The haters!

In short he's a pathetic small man scurrying from the spotlight of science and reason to the sanctity of tawdry nut-job conspiracy theory and the cash-rich audience that goes with it.

Mike, if you want to address that market then fill your boots, but don't you dare dress it up as science or else you'll have me and others to answer to. Understand?

Trekker said...

Expat, sorry - what I meant was, as it's so easy to find out who you are, using Google, don't you think Bara and Hoagland already know?

expat said...

Trekker: Again, I can't comment without divulging information that would be useful to them.

Getting a temporary restraining order is fairly easy to do. Having a judge turn that TRO into a permanent restraining order, however, is a more difficult thing to accomplish.

Regardless, if you are actually served with papers (highly unlikely), you MUST go to court and fight the restraining order, because extant restraining orders do show up in criminal background checks and can therefore affect your ability to get a job.

This image here on this account was the last profile I used that got banned from Hoagland, before joining here. Oops! I just gave Cooper what he wanted, again.

It's not the use of goofy avatars that really bother's Hoagland; it's the pointed questions that he can't answer without undermining his position that's what gets one banned.

Expat would never get served a restraining order, because for one thing, nobody can PROVE his State issued personae. I'll bet he even makes lawful use of proxy servers.

Hoagland knows who he is, but is afraid of a counter suit.

I think that Bara would have to perjure himself in order to get a judge to issue a restraining order. Bare seems like somebody who is narcissistic enough to believe he could get away with perjury. Bara thinks he's smarter than everybody else, and one way or another, that will be his undoing.

Trekker said...

Expat - OK, no problem!

Hoagland used the "phony ID" thing as an excuse to ignore legit questions about his research. I tested this out a number of times on his FB page by re-posting questions from James Concannon's many deleted posts. As I have never gone under any name except the one my parents chose to give me, he didn't have the anonymous excuse, but he still ignored them. Not knowing someone's true identity shouldn't stop you from answering science and math questions.

Expat,
If you aren't already a member of the forum section of JREF, you might want to join. A thread was started there on a subject near and dear to your heart.

Seems like someone as talented as Expat, could write a better book than Bara, even if he doesn't have a doctoral degree, either.

FlightSuit said...

I've very recently had some right wing schmucks demand to know my full, real name because I was fighting with them in an online forum. They kept trying to claim that the fact that I wasn't posting under my full, real name somehow detracted from my credibility.

I think this tactic of demanding to know an online poster's full, real name is nothing more than a way of throwing up a road block when they know they can't beat you on the issue being debated.

I mean seriously, how clueless do you have to be to not understand that posting under an anonymous screen name has been a standard and accepted practice for as long as the Internet has existed?

expat said...

Misti I could DEFINITELY write a better book than either Hoagland or Bara, and what's more I have the time to do it. Problem is, facts don't sell. Fantasies do.

Chris Lopes said...

Expat,
You could write a parody of a pseudo-science book, that would be both funny and educational. Who knows, if you make the parody too close to the source material, you might rate a spot on C2C.

expat said...

FS: Yes, exactly. Exactly. The internet grew up on pseudonyms and they'll never go away. Anyone who demands a real name is just a newbie as far as I'm concerned. Anyone who says "Your FB profile isn't credible because you don't have enough fwiends" is just pathetic.
