"Ken Johnston's photos show things that aren't in the NASA versions" -- Well, now we know why

Today I was looking again at the Picasa galleries Mike Bara has helpfully created from all the images in Ancient Aliens on the Moon. Something struck me.

Looking at the Chapter 4 gallery, I boggled once again, as I have before, at the "skyscrapers" in those two Apollo 10 images of Sinus Medii. This image, which Mike says is AS10-32-4862, is probably actually AS10-32-4820, since 4862 doesn't exist. Here's the "official" version.

Now, according to the Hoagland/Bara mythology, this is one of the best examples of "overarching glass structures" that were only revealed by examining Ken Johnston's personal collection, BECAUSE THE OFFICIAL VERSION HAS BEEN AIRBRUSHED BY NASA.

My thought today was, "Hang on. Ken's collection was of prints, not digital versions. Very obviously this image has been manipulated in Photoshop -- gamma-stretched, perhaps -- to bring out those 'skyscrapers.' " But now, WHO SCANNED THAT PRINT to make the digital version? It's a pretty safe bet that it was Hoagland, on his own office scanner, which must have had very heavy use in that period.

So is Hoagland showing us, not glass skyscrapers above the Moon, but the horrible condition of his scanner glass -- scratched, dusty, and partly opaque? Could that curly thing top right be a Hoagland beard hair? Is the difference between the two versions simply a difference between an amateur and a professional photo lab? I think we'd all like a comment on that question from Hoagland or Bara. Think we'll get one? Nah, me neither.

Thanks for linking to the galleries. I can't believe he's still using Alan Bean's "Rock and Roll on the Ocean of Storms" to support his ruminations. As I recall, Dark Mission uses it to imply that Bean was including diagonal lines in his paintings to consciously or unconsciously illustrate the diagonal structural buttresses that he and Conrad really saw on the Moon. Also, the vibrant colors Bean uses are supposedly a nod to the rainbows he saw refracted through the "prisms" of the shattered lunar domes. Hoagland has mentioned Bean's 1998 book "Apollo: An Eyewitness Account" as including several examples of these phenomena.

Unfortunately these are yet more misleading lies from Hoagland and Bara (it can't even legitimately be called data mining, because Bean has never mentioned that buttresses were what he intended to show). What Bean does explicitly mention in the same book is that he uses a bronzed cast of a lunar overshoe to "distress" the surface of his works, along with an original Apollo 12 core tube driven with his flight geology hammer. He even includes tiny snippets of his lunar-dust-impregnated suit patches in his paints to ensure that each painting contains a little bit of the moon. In the case of the aforementioned painting, you can see in Mike's gallery that the diagonal application of the lunar overshoe created the lines that Bara and Hoagland interpret as "buttresses" in Chapter 4 of Dark Mission.

Sorry about the somewhat off-topic comment, but I thought it was a good illustration of Bara and Hoagland's style of "deduction". There really isn't any room for fact-checking here, because any semblance of the actual scientific method would cause the two's decades of "research" to collapse. Instead, we get lots of the same regurgitated junk. Calling Mike's followers a "flock" suddenly seems disturbingly appropriate.

Hoagland voiced an interesting interpretation of NASASS' announcing of the big event of dropping a bunker buster on the Moon. When nobody was able to see anything at all, let alone, the big display that was touted, Richard C2C said that there was nothing visible, because all the dust that would have risen to be reflected the Sun light, got trapped inside the domes, as the hole wasn't big enough to let it all out.

NASA sure didn't have anything to say after the flop.

The Alan Bean thing was the start of my first public battle on Hoagland's FB page, and my first indication how fact avoiding his fans can be. Someone had mentioned the Alan Bean paintings as proof of the buttresses, and someone else (it might have been James Concannon) explained that it was a boot print. The response this person got was "says who?", which caused me to do some research and post a link to Alan Bean's website. As you might expect, the crowd was not amused.

Just a thought.
Surely if NASA wanted to hide the evidence of great crystal skyscrapers, all they had to do is black out the backgrounds of the lunar images. It wouldn't have been hard to do and nobody would have known anything. I mean, they were so clever they could hide a crane, pylons, a beach house, a gambling casino and a whorehouse on the Moon's surface but they forgot about something really simple.
Then again, they forgot to put stars in the sky in that fake Moon landing set at Area 51 (I saw it on Fox so I know it's true).

expat said...

Ah well, see, they did that. But not on Ken Johnston's L33T set of prints, see?

How I wish Ken would answer my messages. It would be so simple for him to get out a loupe, take a close look at the print of AS10-32-4820, and tell us whether the skyscrapers are there or not.

It looks like RCH hasnt been around so maybe someone else can help me. Does anyone know what scenes in the movie "John Carter" depict the Cydonia region of Mars? I watched it twice and didnt see anything that jumped out to me.

Not all that much of the movie was actually filmed at Cydonia. The Space NAZIS pretty much have that part of the planet cordoned off.

Art Bell would always make sure that Richard sent him images before the show would air, so that they could be posted on his website and referenced during the interview. This was a great way to increase the web traffic so that Coast Producers could charge a higher rate for advertising. Best of all for the audience, was the fact that Art would invariably challenge Richard's explanation of the images.

Ryan, don't waste your time hunting snipes. Hoagland hasn't ever specified what you are asking about.

Well, well, Mike is now advising his fans that in order to verify the story that's circulating about man-made pyramids in Antarctica, they should look for the source images, nothing less!

Does this guy have any understanding of the concept of irony?

Chris Lopes said...

Trekker,
Bara and Hoagland (along with their audiences) don't do irony. With no credentials of their own, they'll question those of any of their critics. With all their financial interests locked up in their nonsense, they question the financial interests of others. And while both feel free to steal other people's work, at least one of them (Hoagland) is constantly crying about YouTube pilfering their videos. Yeah, their dictionaries do not include the word irony.

FlightSuit said...

This may be a very basic question, but am I correct in thinking AS10-32-4862 and/or AS10-32-4820 is showing us the curvature of the lunar horizon?

If that's the case, then the scale of those "skyscrapers" would have to be staggeringly huge, right? How do Hoagland/Bara explain the fact that such huge structures are not visible to the naked eye, or at least through telescopes, when we look at the moon from Earth?

expat said...

FS: You're quite correct, those skyscrapers would be HUMUNGOUS if they existed. Hoagland has been asked about this before, and he has a ready reply. "Of course they aren't visible in telescopes. They're transparent."

Hoagland was guest Author of the Month on Graham Hancock's website in December 2007, just as Dark Mission was released.

Here's a thread on the 'lunar structures' from his time there. See how he ducks and weaves:

Of course the skyscrapers aren't seen because holograms are used to hide them (as we know from John Lear). But they must have 19.5 stories. Which means that someone needs TI take up a collection so that RCH can do some torsion field testing there.

Richard aka the "dyke" Hoagland reads a lot of scifi books from the 50's and 60's and also probably got exposed to comic book writer Jack Kirby's work
see http://marvel.wikia.com/Celestials

and mixed it all up to splatter our minds with this idea of a super race god beings leaving their artifacts that resemble modern skyscrapers and lol babylonian monoliths and ziggaruts. I mean if these super race god beings were smarter they would let their form follow function instead of their architecture follow inefficient designs like using tons and tons of dirty to create stones that has no use other than stairs that lead to no where lol...

as for skyscrapers..well they have office towers in the moon i guess..probably xerox machines and the whole starbucks coffee machines.

also, saturn is seeded with spherical satellites which are made by the "ring makers" also copied form science fiction writers..yea also the monolith..oh yea they need big phallic shapes that can be positioned on asteroids and shit looking moons like phoebos..for nothing more than homage to the sun god lol...

yea and this 19.5 degrees of b.s. wtf is that..wtf is that..hypder dimensional physics? wtf..seriously..he probably has higgs bosons in his brain ..reminding him constantly about the hyper space they exist in...

every time i heard Richard the dyke Hoagland the voice..its like someone scraping the chalk board with their nails..(sorry for the audio visualization) also i think he's getting more feminine .. must be all of them msg's he's eating at the conferences..

Why does NASA tint images from Mars, red? This would tend to mask blue and green, colors on Earth, of water and trees.
All images taken by all deep space probes are taken in false color, not RGB as we are used to on Earth. In fact, they are usually taken with 8 or 12 different filters, including infrared and ultraviolet with a monochrome (black and white) camera. They are then combined together in different colors to bring out certain features that wouldn't be visible to the naked eye. This explains why pictures of Jupiter's clouds or Saturn's storms look so spectacular. If you were there and could see them with your eyes, they would probably look pretty dull. This also explains why planetary pictures are in all different colors.

PROOF of COVER-UP by NASA?
Curiosity Landing Site - September 2012

I looked at this site.
http://mars.jpl.nasa.gov/explore/galecrater/
The anomalies he describes are there. I saw the faces and the repeating lakes. I don't see it as a cover up. Rather, it's evidence the images were stitched together and some areas are missing. Instead of showing blacked out areas, NASA wanted to show a continuous landscape so they simply pasted other bits in. The repeating faces might be a signal that that bit is pasted and not real.
In any case, why would they hide something? If they found alien cities or whorehouses, the public would get excited and demand MORE money for NASA, not less. If they were faking the whole program, the same astronomers who are cheering it on now would be the ones screaming fake.

Strahlungsamt said...

If those skyscrapers were so transparent, they would still have a refractive index, just like glass, water or diamonds and cause a prismatic effect as stars pass behind them, even if they were clear and transparent.

This assumes there's nothing inside the buildings. If there was, then they wouldn't be transparent.

Also, given their size, they would be visible to even amateur astronomers and the effect would have been picked up by every telescope in existence.

The fact that no such effect has ever been observed (unless every astronomer on the planet had his/her brain rebooted) is proof positive that the towers don't exist.

(Another minor detail: with so much empty real-estate on the Moon, why would they build huge skyscrapers anyway?)
