how do you pronounce OMICRON?

I've always been taught Oh-MIKE-ron. Virtually the whole of the USA says OH-mick-ron. Interesting....

Glad to see you have returned !

"AH-mik-ron" for me, usually, unless I sometimes do "OH" for the first syllable.

Among the conspiracists I've recently listened to (including Cassidy), they put an extra "n" in there for omNicron. Very weird, but since when did the most basic facts affect them?

I wasn't even sure if it started with a long or short O.

As it is a Latin word, it's pronounced:

Oh-MEE-chrone

I pronounce it like astroguy. I wonder if those conspiracists are pronouncing it onmNicron to mock Joe Biden, who said it as such.

SARS has been known of since the 1960s. How did SARS-2 occur, and how is it that so many new variant strains are now showing up so rapidly?

The original Greek is easy and straightforward enough: OH-mee-kron.

TVM for all the responses. Seems I've been saying it wrongly all these ytears.

That's mighty big of you, Paterick. You rarely admit you are wrong. Now, get back to work and debunk the Omicron strain.

I just followed that irrefutable guide to all things scientific, Futurama, as to how to pronounce Omicron.

Remember what you said about Hoagland being 86'd from Coast? Turns out it was for the June 19, 2015 show, about Russia being outraged because of the high tech that Apollo found on the Moon and didn't share with other countries. I wonder if that's what Putin wanted to give Hoagland a medal for?

Not true Theadora, it was all about RCH winning a bet with Gnoory and demanding a 5-hour show all his own.

Maybe unrelated, and I don't recall the date, but Noory in passing to Hoagland, he mentioned something about the Russians wanting to award Hoagland with a medal. This must have been pre arranged, because -

Hoagland said without missing a beat: "If there were just some way of accepting the award, without acceding to Putin's megalomania."

Now THAT'S even more funny than ironic.

Paterick, did you catch what the medal was supposed to be for?

I hope you are continuing to recover. It’s been hard to keep track what Mike Bara and other pseudoscientific pundits are talking about.

This morning, as I was writing about Scary Kerry Cassidy’s latest articles about the Russian-Trump-Patriot alliance to defeat alien incursions and/or the Cabal, I thought about your post about scalar attack she suffered back in the day. Was tgat tge best tgey could do to stop her?

As I was linking to that, I also read several of your posts about Linda Howe. She recently created a stir on UFO Twitter for erupting on a podcast when the host dared to ask a question that went beyond fawning adulation for her many accomplishments.

Unfortunately some things just keep coming back, which might make it harder for you to feel like returning in full.

Balderdash.

Putin successfully pulled off a seamless transition, by creating two new independent Republics to host Russian peace keepers. This in defense against NATO at the border and in the Black Sea. The hypocrisy of course, is the Russian communication vessels (spy ships) in US waters, not to mention Chinese nuclear armed submarines.

This ploy gives Russia the necessary corridor from Russia directly to the Black Sea. Landlocked Russia has been invaded more than any other country in history. Putin lives in Sochi. He can't wake up nowadays, with out seeing a periscope watching him scratch his ass. How he can see the periscope with his back to the submarine, I'll never know, butt it would only take a mere, split second to blast his ass with a cruise missile while he barbeques reindeer venison on the porch of his quaint little beach cottage.

Ironically, Germany now halts building a pipeline which Europe desperately desires, in cutting off it's nose to spite it's face, while Putin manages to get a good price for oil during an otherwise down market. Russia, along with the rest of OPEC, Ukraine, British Petroleum, and Chevron, all benefit from hundred dollar oil. Has traffic congestion decreased in your town?

One might well wonder why Russia was so quick to accede to the Ukrainian borders after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, though, with Russian populations inside, adjacent to Russia?

NASA to launch ‘priority’ mission exploring mysterious domes on Moon’s surface

WASHINGTON — NASA is to launch a “priority” mission to explore mysterious domes on the moon. The space agency announced a rover will visit the Gruithuisen Domes, a geological feature that has baffled scientists.

The domes are suspected to have been formed by a sticky magma rich in silica, similar in composition to granite. On Earth, however, formations like these need oceans of liquid water and plate tectonics to form, but without these key ingredients on the Moon, lunar scientists have been left to wonder how these domes formed and evolved over time.

The Lunar Vulkan Imaging and Spectroscopy Explorer (Lunar-VISE) investigation, slated for 2025, will consist of a suite of five instruments. Two of them will be mounted on a stationary lander and three mounted on a mobile rover to be provided as a service by a Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) initiative vendor.

Over the course of ten Earth days (one lunar day), Lunar-VISE will explore the summit of one of the Gruithuisen Domes. By analyzing the lunar regolith at the top of one of these domes, the data collected and returned by Lunar-VISE’s instruments will help scientists answer fundamental open questions regarding how these formations came to be.

Announced June 2 as part of a “Priority Artemis Science” mission, the data also will help inform future robotic and human missions to the Moon.

“We’ve got a lunar mystery on our hands! The Gruithuisen Domes are a geologic enigma,” writes NASA’s Caroline Capone. “Based on early telescopic and spacecraft observations, these domes have long been suspected to be formed by a magma rich in silica, similar in composition to granite. The real mystery is how such silicic magmas could form on the Moon. In order to truly understand these puzzling features, we need to visit the domes, explore them from the ground, and analyze rock samples. Luckily, NASA is planning to do just that! Hopefully, in just a couple of years we will better understand this lunar mystery!”

Adding to the growing list of commercial deliveries slated to explore more of the Moon than ever before under Artemis, NASA has also selected a second investigation. The Lunar Explorer Instrument for space biology Applications (LEIA) science suite is a small CubeSat-based device. LEIA will provide biological research on the Moon – which cannot be simulated or replicated with high fidelity on the Earth or International Space Station – by delivering the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae to the lunar surface and studying its response to radiation and lunar gravity.

“The two selected studies will address important scientific questions related to the Moon,” says Joel Kearns, deputy associate administrator for exploration in NASA’s Science Mission Directorate. “The first will study geologic processes of early planetary bodies that are preserved on the Moon, by investigating a rare form of lunar volcanism. The second will study the effects of the Moon’s low gravity and radiation environment on yeast, a model organism used to understand DNA damage response and repair.”

Hi Old Chap,

Long time, no chat...

Anyway, what does it matter - when it comes to anagrams?

Of course, this is very old news and, like everything else so very interesting, it's pure coincidence that:
